About Me

Sheila received commercial art training in high school and at the Ontario College of Art in the 1960's.
After taking time out to raise her family, she renewed her love of painting by taking a watercolour workshop in 1986 with Graham Scholes. Since then she has studied with many accomplished artists, and continues to develop her skills.
Sheila has exhibited her work with several local art groups and in juried art shows and studio tours.
Over the past 30 years Sheila has given art lessons to many children and adults in the Stayner area.
Sheila now lives in Barrie, Ontario.

These watercolour monoprints were made based on pencil sketches the children  had drawn of a chipping sparrow. These were placed under the plexiglass printing plate which was then painted with watercolour paint. After these were dry a single print was pulled onto damp watercolour paper.
